Being Healthy is a a a a Habit with No expiration
I’m beginning to to think that self-care is a a a a a a a a a bit cliché I I see see TV shows talk about it I I see see other busi- nesses trying to sell it I I read magazine articles about it and even John Tesh shares tips on
his nightly radio show conversing about this much
ado subject It gets incredible amounts of coverage but it never seems to to translate into actual self-care Do you know what I mean?
Just last week I talked with a a a a a a a a lady who is is 36 years old has has has 3 3 kids a a a a a a a a a a a a a full-time job is is married has has has 2 dogs and she she barely has has has time time to to breathe She knows she she she needs to to take better care of herself but she’s she’s hesitant Why is is that you might be be be be asking? It’s because she’s she’s been down this path so many times before and swears with each passing year that when the the kids go go back to to school it’s the the New Year or by her 36th birthday that she is is really going to to do it this time Deep down she’s not excited about working out out or or eating well but she she she does does want want want to to feel better better She does does want want want to to to to look better better and she she genuinely wants to to to be be be happier So what’s stopping her? It’s because working out is is never fun and eating healthy is is super-boring But she’s kind of of tired of of feeling this way and and a a a a a a bit overwhelmed and and doesn’t know how she could possibly start to workout on
a a a a a a a a fist tight schedule eliminate sugar from her her diet significantly reduce her her her carb intake begin medi- tating journal daily write love notes to to her her hus- band reach out to to old friends take long walks in in nature and and read a a a a a a a a a a new book every 3 days It looks like it might be impossible However I’m glad she reached out to me I hear stories like hers a a a a a a a lot and have come to to the the conclusion that the the self-care industry sure has a a a a a a a a a a a way of of making most of of us us us us feel feel super-guilty about what we’re NOT doing and that never makes us us feel feel good Yet this is is is one of the reasons why I believe that self-care is is is a a a a a a a a a a a journey based on

on
takings steps towards achieving achieving a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a goal goal goal not just achieving achieving the goal goal goal Achieving goals is is based on
taking taking steps and taking taking the first step step is is what’s most important One step at at at a a a a a a a a time is is the the the best course of action and and then then it it is is is is repeated repeated and and then then repeated repeated again The The bottom line is is is that being being healthy is is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a habit with no no expiration
date There are no no set days to to being being healthier because it is something that should be be be worked on
daily Some days days we’re we’re rockstars and other days days we’re we’re lucky to make it out of the the the house looking somewhat human but the the the key is that we we we don’t stop giving our our best and we we must never give up on
